Who is Bahsi?
My Background in Art
I’ve been drawing and creating for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was always drawn to making things, and throughout school, I took every creative class I could. Art and graphic design were the ones I excelled at the most.
I went on to study graphic design in college and university, where I developed a wide range of skills—many of which have been incredibly useful in my tattooing career. My background in design has given me a strong foundation in composition, detail, and precision, all of which I bring into my tattoo work today.
I focus mainly on creating black and grey tattoos that flow naturally with the body, inspired by the beauty of the natural world - flowers, animals, insects, and the raw energy of the elements. I love weaving these organic forms with geometric mandalas and fluid patterns, influenced by the elegance of Suminagashi and Art Nouveau.
Tattooing for me, is more than just art, its an experience. I work in a private room within Happy Tats Studio. The room I tattoo in is a warm, plant-filled space with natural light and good music ensuring a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Every piece I create is designed with care, meant to feel timeless and connected to you.
I believe tattoos should feel as if they belong on your skin, flowing with your body’s natural form. If you’re looking for a piece that is both personal and timeless, let’s create something special together.

Hey, I’m Sid. I am a Tattoo Artist located in Colchester, Essex in the UK.
Why the Name Bahsi?
Bahsi comes from a nickname my friends call me—SidBah. When I first created my Instagram page, I flipped it around, dropped the “d,” and ended up with Bahsi.
Years later, after researching the word, I discovered that “Bahşi” is a Turkic word historically used to describe a shaman, bard, or spiritual healer in Central Asian cultures. It can also refer to a storyteller, poet, or sage—someone who preserves and passes down traditions.
The name stuck, and it now carries even more meaning for me.
The Tattoo Experience
I know that getting a tattoo, especially your first can feel a little overwhelming. It’s a big moment, and I want you to feel comfortable, at ease, and excited about the experience. My aim is to create an environment where you can relax, enjoy and trust the process.
For me, tattooing is more than just creating art on skin, it’s a collaboration, a shared experience between artist and client. From the initial idea to the final piece, every step is part of something special. I love the co-creation that happens, the conversations we share, the music playing in the background, the time and care that goes into bringing your vision to life and then there’s that moment when you see your fresh tattoo for the first time and the rush of love for this new piece of art that’s now a part of you.
The entire process is truly magical, and I feel incredibly lucky to do what I do. My passion for tattooing runs deep, and I strive to make every session an experience that feels meaningful, authentic, and enjoyable.
